kompani haugesund premieres its next all-night dance performance, with works by local choreographers ludvig herstad and ingeleiv berstad. the two choreographers operate at opposite ends of what dance can be, and in this performance they are invited to each create their own premiere for the company's dancers, and also weave the works together.

in this staging of henrik ibsen's masterpiece, director johannes holmen dahl will go into the core of peer gynt. ibsen's symbol-heavy and rich text is interpreted by a strong team of actors, and ragnhild hemsing, one of our foremost grieg interpreters, is on stage with ole bull's own harding fiddle.

library of gestures consists of a movement choir with no less than 20 dancers, one flutist and one percussionist. the performance is built up from three layers: a mathematically structured movement layer of gestures, as well as live music and text. the text is essayistic and poetic, with historical references revolving around human loneliness, hope and confusion.

is there any point in trying to be happy? not according to philosopher arthur schopenhauer. people are blind, stupid and horny in their desperate search for happiness - he thought. our pursuit of sex, money, material things and ambitions only makes us more unhappy.

the danish playwright rune david grue has brought schopenhauer's rules of living from the 19th century into banal, modern everyday life. in the performance, we meet 6 people in search of happiness who are repeatedly met with disappointment.

what is the cost of a person's morality? and how far is someone willing to go to save themselves and theirs? in the world-renowned play the visit, you are invited to the small town of güllen, which is on the brink of financial ruin. suddenly, the search-rich and mysterious claire zachanassian appears. she herself grew up in the city and has now returned with a gold-edged and macabre proposal in her suitcase: she offers the city's residents an enormous sum of money - in exchange for them avenging the evil that was once committed against her.

It is also created in collaboration with scenographer kjersti alm eriksen, composers/musicians eivind lønning and kim myhr, and light designer martin myrvold. the two performers follow physically fantastic speculative pathways. down and up through magic wormholes, from one dancer to the other, ideas and affects are passed on and on, bouncing furthermore into the room. the dancers absorb each other’s bodies just like insects would merge with and imitate their environment, losing themselves in their quest of becoming other. their journey weaves a common world, full of ornaments and eccentricity, like a techno-organic storytelling with plenty of explicit musicality. the performance balances between fiction and the real. what is my body made of? is what i feel through my skin real? the dancers put into question the materiality of things and gladly explore and tell stories of somatic fiction.

sympathetic magic was written during the last year's lockdown and is a declaration of love for collective rituals and gathering with other people. the concert can be experienced as a 70-minute long social ritual, and which according to the composer himself is perhaps the most personal music he has ever made. the music expresses a cautious optimism, where the social ecstasy we have all longed for may again be possible to experience.

mimi devine is former carte blanche dancer shlomi ruimi's alter ego as an entertainer and drag queen. she has had tremendous success, and is now taking her art and her followers on tiktok and instagram to the stage. all about mimi is a dance performance where mimi mimes, dances and acts together with four other voguers from the norwegian ballroom scene.
